Local Action Group "Bobrza River Basin"
One of the
foundations of rural development is creating favourable working conditions for local communities. It
becomes particularly important with regard to young women living in rural areas, who often try to
reconcile their professional and family life. Development in this area takes place not only by supporting
entrepreneurship and the creation of new companies, but also by providing adequate infrastructure for the
benefit of entire families, and women in particular, who often face the dilemma - work or home?
Participants of the trip to the area of operation of LAG "Bobrza River Basin", at the beginning, will
learn how the self-government authorities of Miedziana Góra and Strawczyn municipalities cope with
this challenge.
In the next section, we will stop by a local company which, thanks to receiving EU
funds, was able to develop its activities and set an example of entrepreneurship in the historic
17th-century Old Polish Industrial District.
An additional advantage of this trip is a visit to
Oblęgorek - a picturesque village where the Nobel Prize winner for Literature, Henryk Sienkiewicz's manor
house is located. Today, this place serves as a branch of the National Museum in Kielce.

Nursery in Miedziana Góra
First public nursery in
Miedziana Góra municipality. The investment was carried out within the European Social Fund as part
of the project "Mum and Dad go back to work". This project is based on the need for equality between women
and men in all aspects of life, including access to employment, career development and ensuring a
work-life balance.
As part of the concept of increasing access to childcare for children under the age
of three, this modern, fully equipped facility for 48 children was created, providing free care for the
first 18 months. It is a so-called passive building, the applied technology guarantees low energy
consumption.
Total value of the project: PLN 3.264.505,00 (ca. EUR 719.053,00).
Public kindergarten in Strawczyn
The facility
includes a single-division nursery for 16 children and a five-division kindergarten for 120 children. The
kindergarten is a modern passive building, equipped with technologies enabling the minimization of energy
consumption during work, adapted to the needs of disabled people.
Laureate of the nationwide #BeActive
competition organised within the European Sports Week (2019).
The investment was financed by the
European Regional Development Fund.
Total value of the project: PLN 6.300.000,00 (ca. EUR
1.387.665,00). EU funding amounted to PLN 3.100.000,00 (ca. EUR 682.819,00) .
Makar
Printing House - Marcin Karczewski
The company is located near the historic Blast Furnace
Plant in Bobrza. It is a part of the Old Polish Industrial District from the 17th century, the center of
the steel industry and mining. Provides offset printing, large format and visual advertising services.
The company received funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development within the
EU budget for 2014-2020 (via LAGs) to expand its business and implement innovation.
The value of
financial support: PLN 300,000.00 (ca EUR 66.079,00).
Henryk Sienkiewicz Manor House in Oblęgorek (Branch of the National Museum in Kielce)
The manor house that once belonged to the Polish Nobel laureate - Henryk
Sienkiewicz, along with the village in which it is located, were described by him with the following
words:
"Oblęgorek has charmed me completely. There are few villages so beautifully situated in
the kingdom. The trees are overgrown, the park is huge, there are plenty of flowers, and the apple, pear
and plum trees literally bend under the weight of the fruit. Abundance is unique and the view of
branches covered with red apples is very lovely...
...There are plenty of flowers,
especially blooming rose trees, so not only do the lungs breathe in fresh air, but the eyes also have
something to look at. "
Today, this place belongs to the National Museum in Kielce, which
operates here with a mission: To gather, protect and display heritage, to be open to the present day, to
deserve the viewer's delight.
This modern cultural institution wishes to show the value of the past and
to be a bridge between generations, implementing its mission through, for instance:
- care for the
entrusted cultural heritage and its constant accumulation,
- modernity understood as: the introduction
of a quality management system, project management and IT tools supporting communication, customer
relations and process implementation,
- education,
- the uniqueness and attractiveness of
exhibitions and artistic activities,
- building the image of a viewer-friendly organization in which it
is worth to spend leisure time,
- conducting scientific, research and publishing activities,

broadening knowledge and continuous improvement.
The National Museum in Kielce executed the project
"Increasing the tourist attractiveness of the Henryk Sienkiewicz Palace in Oblęgorek through its
modernization, renovation and reconstruction of elements of the historic park and the implementation of
interactive sightseeing".
Its total value was PLN 3.346.820,00 (ca. EUR 73.185,00) and was
co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
